This post is from one of my younger alters, Katie. Katie has found her passion in photography. There is a combination of 10,498 photos and videos on our phone and the majority have been taken by Katie over the past few years. In March 2020 we developed a severe trauma related eating disorder where we lost 10 stone in 11 months. More about the eating disorder in future posts. Witnessing the change in weight and the body in Katie’s photos over time has been challenging for myself, but I am grateful for her talent with photographing other alters and the compassion she shows in doing so. Often if I’m present when she comes forward to take photos it’s like I have dual vision. My own perception and also I’m aware how differently Katie observes the world around her and the wonder she finds in the smallest detail. It is astounding. I have helped Katie type up her own description below but the words are all hers. The majority of photos on our posts have been taken at some point by Katie.

Hello my name is Katie, I am 5 years old. My favourite thing is taking photos with our phone. My two favourite things to take is slow motion video, I have good videos of the bees in our garden where in the slow motion you can see their wings beating and I also like to take slow motion video of our cat Rocket playing in the garden. I like to take photos of the others inside. I have taken hundreds of photos of others inside. I like to capture them either as they are switching or their mood, which is usually sad or unsure. Sometimes I use photo editing software or just use the filters on the phone and sometimes both. Often I don’t edit them at all. I also like to capture the small details like the sunlight on a dandelion or the leaves on a flower I really like seeing the small details but they can be quite hard to photograph and it can take lots of patience. One of my favourite photos in this collection here is when I was filming during a thunderstorm and managed to catch the lightening. Sometimes it can be difficult to photo others inside as I need to have control of the hand and arm holding the phone, sometimes this can be a bit spooky to other parts as they realise they are not controlling that arm and so I have to do it gently and quietly. A lot of others inside are used to me taking photos but there are others who are very scared and unsure of where they are so I have to be very careful and respectful of how they are feeling. I wanted to show a selection of photos of the things that have interested me and some of the others inside I have taken. I hope you enjoy my photos and thank you for looking
