Self care can be a huge hurdle when our mental health is poor. Negative self talk, beating ourselves up when things aren’t going great, demanding more of ourselves than we are able to provide in the moment and then shaming ourselves for not providing what we think we should be. It can take great courage to step back and take action to care for ourselves. My poem today honours the courage of self nourishment of mind and body.
