Ah…the universe always has a plan. My plan was a quiet restful weekend. I am awaiting the council enforcement team to arrive on Monday to issue an eviction notice to my difficult neighbour. In earlier correspondence that he received from the housing people he readily assumed that I had “grassed him up”. So now he is baying for my blood and threatening to kill me. He was supposed to be served last Monday, but that didn’t happen due to a missing signature on the documents.
Last week I had sat anxiously all weekend anticipating Monday morning. When I eventually found out on Thursday that it’s actually happening tomorrow I made a promise to myself to not step into the fear and get on with my life.
The universe threw me a curve ball. I got up on Saturday from a restless nights sleep, as my male cat’s feline idiopathic cystitis had flared up. I gave him meds and monitored him carefully all day. I had decided to watch the England match. 15 minutes before kick off I realised there was drops of blood on the litter tray. I phoned the emergency vet and they recommended I give him gabapentin and see how he was overnight. After 3 hours sleep I wakened at 6am to my cat crying and passing more blood. I got dressed, phoned the vet, and a taxi and off we went. As we were travelling to the vet I realised that today is the 4th anniversary of my mum passing away from cancer. Somehow that made me panic more. Don’t die on me today little one. The vet examined him and confirmed that he was emptying his bladder and doesn’t have a blockage at the moment. He has a fever and the ultrasound shows some shadows which could be stones. It’s definitely a severe flare of his cystitis and it’s probably due to the recent heat waves. I’ve spent the day cleaning up the litter tray again and again and mopping up tiny pools of blood soaked urine across the flat.
My skin is flaring, I’m in so much pain and my fatigue is off the scale. Only 11 days left until my appointment with the rheumatologist.
Well it wasn’t quite the distraction I wanted from thinking about tomorrow’s stress. Apparently the universe doesn’t give you what you want, it gives you what you need? I’m not sure how I needed a ton of extra stress.
Still my guitar and piano playing whilst the cat slept for a short while was nice. In between cleaning litter trays, mopping floors and music practice I have enjoyed resting on the sofa watching the multitude of birds flying to my feeders on the balcony. I’m off to mop up another puddle now.
Praying for peace.
