Choir energy.

It’s hard work going out in the evening. Choir is worth it though. My choir buddy and I are always the first on site. We set up the room before everyone arrives. We are both very grateful to have a new caretaker in the building. He is so thoughtful, he unfolds the chairs and put them in right places, moves the grand piano into position and unfolds the awkward welcome table.

The caretaker taking the time to do that means I get more time to play on the piano before I step into my helper role welcoming everyone and registering new starts.

I really enjoy taking the bits and pieces I have learned during the past week, and having the opportunity to play on a proper piano.

I like being helper and greeting everyone. I tend to stay by the door whilst the warm up is being performed. It can be a little too energetic and my back has been particularly painful this week.

It was a joy to run through our songs and it was an upbeat and lively session. A lot of us headed to the pub afterwards. The half pint of cider was a welcome sight to ease a tired throat.

When I got home I stood outside for a while and marvelled at the beautiful starry sky. It’s great that my alters enjoy choir too.

I’m absolutely exhausted and glad there’s no plans tomorrow. Looking forward to climbing into bed and having cat cuddles. I’m still waiting for the steroid cream to really kick in but there is a small improvement.

Surfing the stars on the musical waves of tonight.

Starry skies tonight.
