Salubrious Sunday

I’m grateful it’s been a very quiet Sunday. I’m recovering from going to the concert on Friday night and too many fireworks on the estate last night.

I woke up at 7am and considered getting out of bed. I thought I’ll just have another half hour and snuggled back down under the covers, the cat snuggled up next to me. I woke up again a few minutes before 10am, Neesha still fast asleep next to me. I obviously needed the sleep!

I’m hoping the poring rain will stop any firework activity this evening. Mainly because Neesha is curled up on my lap and I don’t want her to go and hide in the wardrobe.

The rain is pouring down and has been for the last couple of hours. It’s cold enough to wear my heavier pyjamas and a dressing gown and that makes me very contented. I’m loving the colder weather.

I’m working through some anxiety as I have my yearly eye test in the morning. Last year I was diagnosed with stage 1 retinopathy in both eyes. I do think my eyesight has deteriorated further. I’ve also been having strange floaters in my peripheral vision. I’m not looking forward to the cost of a new prescription for glasses. I have varifocals and they don’t come cheap.

At least I have an unexpected £63 coming to me this week. Which will ease the burden slightly. I’ve lived here for 3 years and four months. I had a fight with my previous council when I moved in. They said I owed them £63 and I argued that as my rent was paid by housing benefit directly to them, how could I owe anything? Anyway I couldn’t be bothered arguing and so paid it. Last week I received a letter from the previous council saying their records indicated that they owed me £63! I quelled my anger by laughing at the absurdity of it all. So I filled in and posted the paperwork and they emailed on Friday to confirm they have made the transfer.

I’m going to spend the rest of the evening pouring over my new books and materials from Musora. It is the app I use to learn piano, guitar and drums. In September they had an offer to get stuff and just pay postage. As three of the books I choose are around £35 each it was too good an offer to refuse. They finally turned up from America last Thursday. I can’t go play anything though until Neesha had finished napping on my lap.
