After the heatwaves of the summer months I’m so grateful for the drop in temperature.
My flat finally dropped to 19 degrees last night. At the height of the heatwaves it was reaching 36/37 degrees. I had fans running constantly. I believe the heat contributed to my poor cat’s health condition and ultimately his death. Constantly sweating exacerbated my already suffering skin.
It’s great to snuggle under the duvet at night and the dressing gowns are out of retirement. I’m looking forward to donning my leather jacket soon.
I don’t think my cat is so impressed though and she has taken to sleeping in the wardrobe and requesting more cuddles.
I have an armchair in my bedroom by the window. It’s was my other cat’s favourite place to hide when he was anxious or unwell. Recently it has become the cuddle chair. When my cat sees me approaching it she meows at me as she knows it’s cuddle time. I’ve really enjoyed those moments over the last couple of weeks. I get comfortable and she climbs on my chest and purrs deeply. Then she falls asleep and I spend some time my meditating on the passing clouds, or at night watching the moon move behind the trees. It’s been beautiful for both of us.
Thankfully I have had a few better nights sleep. I’m still waiting on the steroid cream making an impact and I’m having to dig deep to stay patient. I’m also working hard at keeping other alters calm, they too are impatient for improvement.
Hopefully there’s another decent night of sleep on the horizon.
