Sleep do not forsake me.

I went to bed at a decent time on Sunday night. Then I tossed and turned. I dozed off, my bladder woke me up almost instantly. The steroid cream stung. I climbed back under the duvet and tossed and turned. I got up again and went to the lounge to get my book. I thought reading might aid me towards sleep. I read several chapters.

At 4am I took my bladder back to the toilet. I feel like sleep is on the horizon but now I’m anxious. My support worker will arrive in five hours. Get back under the duvet and fall asleep about 4.30am. I wake up at 6am and get up!

Yesterday was a complete wash out. I was too exhausted to function.

How can I have such severe fatigue all day long and have insomnia at bed time? It’s very frustrating!

Thankfully last night I managed to get a whole six hours sleep. Thank goodness.

I made up for the music practice I didn’t do yesterday and attended choir this evening. It was a great session. We started a new song this week. In tribute to Dolly Parton we are learning Here You Come again. Quite a few of us went to the pub afterwards. I didn’t stay long.

The steroid cream isn’t really making much of an impact yet. After 10 months of trying to treat the issue myself, whilst being ignored by the GP and then a long wait for dermatology, the skin has become severely damaged. I’ve dropped my anxiety that I’m reacting to the steroid cream, and stepped into the acceptance that it’s going to be a long road to get things under control.

My cat is patiently waiting for me to head to bed. I’m hoping for another six hours at least.

Phoenix.

Lovely guitar session today.
