I love music,
Most genres are welcome.
Weather I’m listening,
Or I’m playing,
It lights me up,
Body and soul.
I love the sound,
Of the oceans roar,
The wind dancing,
Through bending branches.
The calls of the foxes,
In the dead of the night.
Owls hooting overhead,
Even the sounds,
Of screech owls,
Are welcome.
The sound of silence,
Is the best sound of all,
No slamming doors,
Kids who can’t seem to play,
Without screaming loudly.
Cars that are faulty,
Their alarms being ignored,
Another smoke detector,
Ringing out again,
The constant barking,
Barking, barking, barking.
The hammering and drilling,
That pierces my brain.
Fireworks that shake me,
To my very core.
Please give me,
The sweet sound,
Of silence.
Stop piercing my brain,
And constricting my lungs.
Let me learn.
Let me think.
Let me breathe.
Let me hear.
The sound of silence.
