One tiny step at a time.

I’ve definitely had more brain power today. My temperature has returned to normal as has my heart rate. Unfortunately the sneezing and blocked sinuses remain. I noticed over the past few days that the bridge of my nose is swollen. I struggled to sleep due to congestion last night. I decided it was time to get the Neti pot out of the cupboard and rinse out my nasal passages. I absolutely loathe the process. It makes me retch and I really don’t like the sensation but it’s been helpful in the past. Finally around 2pm I braved the ordeal. I wasn’t aware just how fully blocked up I am. On the first attempt I could barely get the water to flow. This made me dizzy and I wanted to abandon it all together, but I persevered. It helped slightly. After that I watched some YouTube videos on lymphatic drainage and did the exercises. I prompted myself into action today because of my ears. As I sat down to play the piano this morning I noticed it sounded weird? So I tried the other piano…nope still weird, the guitar, the ukulele nope they all sounded strange. I realised then that it’s all the congestion in my head. I’m hoping I can get on top of it by steaming and continuing the lymphatic drainage exercise.

Another step I took today was to finally change GP surgeries. I thought about what I wrote yesterday. I don’t care to ever see my current GP again. A lot of trust has been broken and there was never a good rapport with any of the GPs there. I’m hoping things will be different at another surgery. It might be the same all over again but I won’t know if I don’t try.

Between the sneezing fits I have attempted to practice choir songs. My throat is still raspy and so I sound like a croaky voiced weirdo! What does one of them sound like I hear you ask? It sounds like me trying to sing with a raspy voice! I don’t believe that I’ll make it to the performance on Sunday, it’s just wishful thinking at this stage. If I still feel this rough tomorrow I won’t be going anywhere.

Time to settle down my Pianist magazine and hope for a less congested nights sleep. Even just a little less congested would be great.

Stepping into the new moon.
