Up and down.

I’m slowly recovering from whatever l had last week. I made it to choir last night and it was good to catch up with everyone and step into my helper role. I was very excited for a chance to play on the grand piano there. I learned 23 bars of Für Elise a few weeks ago and was eager to try it out on a proper acoustic piano. It felt so good to play for 15 minutes before the choir leader arrived.

I was aware that I wasn’t well enough to stand for the whole session and so spent a lot of time sitting. I had bought a large three tier Marks and Spencer’s cake on Monday as we had a farewell do for my choir friend who is leaving for Ireland tomorrow. It was quite an emotional farewell and we will miss her.

I feel very honoured that she has given me the keys to her property and said I can stay as often as I like. I have grand plans of studying and composing music there. I’m excited about the nights I stay, I’ll take the opportunity for a lot of star gazing on clear nights.

In other news. I’ve stepped into yet another frustration with the NHS. I had confirmation yesterday that I have been accepted by the GP surgery I made the request to change to. Today I logged onto to the NHS to attempt to look at some documents in preparation for my upcoming dermatology appointment. I was met with the message that I cannot view anything on the app because I’ve changed GP Surgeries so I need to contact the new surgery. I didn’t delay and phoned immediately only to be told that I won’t be able to view my information for at least six months because, and I quote that’s just how the NHS computer system works. I could tell there was absolutely no point in continuing the conversation so I just ended the call, once again in exasperation. I don’t think he knew what he was talking about. Now I need to find the headspace and time to visit the surgery in person armed with some information from the NHS website. I’ll put it on the ever growing list of things that need lots of headspace to be completed.

At least I have more energy than last week. I’m off to volunteering tomorrow and so grateful that it’s an afternoon session instead of the usual morning session. My skin condition is making it difficult to sleep so I’m rarely getting up before 9am which frustrates me.

I’ve had a nice candlelit bath and now I’m off to bed for cuddles with the cat and French and Saunders new series of Titting About!

Phoenix.
