My migraine was a hum dinger last night. It had gradually built up from a mild headache throughout the day.
I climbed into bed and listened to the storm raging outside. I tossed and turned as the tension in my neck increased from the pain in my head. I hate taking pain killers and really try to a avoid them. By 2am the storm raging inside my head was as forceful as the storm outside. I gave in, stumbled out of bed and took some pain relief. I finally managed to get some sleep.
When I woke up my first thought was what time is it? All week I’ve been trying to get Neesha her breakfast before the workmen turn up next door, and she hides in the wardrobe. Then I remembered it’s Saturday…no work crews today!
It was only 7am. I had a quick scan through my body. My migraine had dissipated leaving behind the remnants of a dull ache as my migraines usually do.
Having the migraine and feeling more off colour than usual over the last couple of days has raised my anxiety. I am wondering if I’m heading for autoimmune flare up? I can’t seem to figure out what the triggers are for that. Or maybe I’m genuinely coming down with a virus? Or maybe just maybe, my system is stressed at having an appointment at the hospital tomorrow. It is also the last place I want to spend my Sunday!
I have my ultrasound for my wrists and hands tomorrow. I am interested to know what it shows. I can feel my joints are more inflamed. The little finger on my left hand has started deviating towards my other fingers. It’s really frustrating when trying to play certain chords on guitar and ukulele.
I also had texts today to say my new glasses are ready for collection as is my prescription. The opticians are open tomorrow but I’m not sure about the pharmacy. So no quiet Sunday for me tomorrow. I do hope the weather isn’t as stormy. Seems to rain every time I have to visit the hospital.
The only upside to tomorrow is I will take the opportunity to play the public piano in the hospital foyer. A silver lining I’m looking forward to.
I’m hoping it’s a stressed system and not the beginnings of a flare up or virus. Hopefully I’ll have better night sleep.
Off now back to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, whilst hoping the wind doesn’t completely push the creaking window frames in the lounge in!
Phoenix.
